Biden’s new gaffe – calls Ukrainians “Iranians” during State of the Union

Joe Biden made a key mistake during his speech on the state of the union, calling Ukrainians “Iranian people” while seeking an inspiring moment of support against Russian aggression.

What he said: “Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he’ll never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people.”

“He will never extinguish their love of freedom. He will never weaken the resolve of the free world” he continued, just before someone shouted from the crowd and the trembling applause grew.

The moment quickly went viral online as videos were widely shared by political commentators like former Trump administration staffer Sebastian Gorka tagging it as an example of a #SenilePresident.

The Independent newspaper reported that even though it might have been a stutter, gaffe or geographical confusion, Biden is already facing questions about his “mental sharpness” going into his first State of the Union.
