Kamala Harris Campaign Adviser Sparks Controversy with Call to “Eliminate” Trump and His Supporters

David Plouffe, a senior adviser to Kamala Harris’ campaign, has resurfaced in headlines after an old tweet called for Donald Trump and “his kind” to be eliminated.

“It’s not enough to just defeat Trump. He must be completely destroyed. His kind must never rise again,” Plouffe wrote in the tweet, which has recently come under scrutiny.

Harris Campaign Under Fire for Adviser’s Remarks

The Trump campaign swiftly highlighted Plouffe’s statement, commenting, “This individual is now a high-ranking official in Kamala Harris’ campaign.” The post gained attention following a second assassination attempt on Trump within weeks.

Over the weekend, a gunman targeted Trump at his Florida golf course. This follows a previous attack attempt at a Pennsylvania rally, which Trump narrowly survived. The first shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed at the scene, and the FBI is still investigating his motives.

The latest assailant, Ryan Routh, was reported by the New York Post as a long-time Democrat donor since 2019. His vehicle displayed a Biden-Harris bumper sticker, and his social media activity mirrored rhetoric often used to depict Trump as a danger to democracy.

Democrats Face Backlash Over Political Rhetoric

Kamala Harris accused Trump of orchestrating “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War” during their recent debate on ABC News. Her comments came just days before Routh’s attempted ambush of Trump.

Trump blamed the intense political language used by Democrats, including Harris, for fueling violence against him. “This dangerous Communist rhetoric from the Left is causing bullets to fly. It’s only going to get worse!” Trump wrote in a post on X.

After the initial assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, politicians on both sides had agreed to tone down heated rhetoric. However, any sense of unity has since faded, with some Democrats mocking Trump following the latest threat to his life.

Rachel Vindman, wife of former impeachment witness Alexander Vindman, quipped on social media that “no ears were harmed” in Sunday’s incident. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut expressed that while the plot was “heartbreaking,” he added that “Trump has done more to inspire political violence than anyone.”

Hillary Clinton also weighed in, stating just hours after Trump’s second close call that he remains a “danger to our country and the world.”
