Megyn Kelly, host of the SiriusXM podcast, expressed her strong disapproval of CNN moderator Abby Philip’s conduct during a recent townhall-style event featuring 2024 GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Joined by guests Josh Holmes, Comfortably Smug, Michael Duncan, and John Ashbrook, all hosts of The Ruthless Podcast, Kelly took issue with Philip’s persistent interruptions during the forum.
Kelly observed that instead of allowing Ramaswamy to articulate his points, Philip repeatedly interrupted him, prompting Kelly to comment on her behavior. “That Abby Philip is annoying,” Kelly remarked. “She is such an interrupter. Like, shut the eff up. Let him make his point. If you want to fact-check him later, then [do it]. Shut up, though. CNN has got an aversion to letting the words come out of the candidates’ mouths, and it’s really a disservice even if you don’t agree with what he’s saying. Yeah, you invited him! Let him say it! Then do your fact check.”

Kelly criticized the perceived censorship of Ramaswamy’s words, emphasizing the importance of allowing candidates to express their views, even if disagreeable. “The more she’s [Abby Philip] trying to censor what he’s saying. I’m like, what’s he saying? Why is she so averse to it? Like his words are so vile, they cannot be uttered. They can be uttered, Abby. Let him finish. You invited him there. Let him make his damn point. And if you watch the whole clip, it’s not like he was going on forever. Like, it was a reasonable amount of time he took to set up his point. Just f–king let him make it,” Kelly asserted.
During the event, Ramaswamy touched on prior statements regarding events on Jan. 6, 2021, suggesting the presence of federal agents in the crowd. Philip consistently refuted the candidate’s claim, asserting there was no evidence to support it. However, it’s worth noting that The New York Times reported in September 2021 that at least one FBI informant was present among the crowd that moved towards the Capitol Building on Jan. 6, following then-President Donald Trump’s speech.
