Gasoline prices for ordinary Americans will rise because of the sanctions against Russia, but the US administration can do nothing about it.
This was stated by US President Joe Biden to journalists, quoted by the White House press service. The head of state was asked what he intends to say to the American people about the situation with gasoline prices.
“They will rise”, Biden said. Asked what he could do about it, he added: “There is little we can do now. Russia is responsible”.
Yesterday, President Biden announced a ban on imports of Russian oil and natural gas into the United States. The decision was made after a “close consultation with our allies, especially in Europe”.

He said the American people must understand that “many of our European partners will not be able to join the United States in this ban.”
Biden said the ban on Russian oil imports has the support of both parties in Congress, as well as widespread support across the country – besides amid soaring gas prices.
The president called on the US Congress to adopt a $12 billion aid package for Ukraine.
